Both in Turkey and Greece, winters may be cold and summers hot. On the other hand, you will most probably be visiting archaeological sites with more or less walking difficulties. Hence an adapted outfit is recommended :

  • In winter : strong walking shoes, warm coat, umbrella, protection against cold wind (hat, gloves)
  • In summer : strong walking shoes, cotton clothing, sun hat, sun glasses, sun cream
  • When visiting churches and mosques, appropriate dressing

Do not forget !

  • Your daily medication if and when needed while on tour.
  • Your tour voucher, the only proof that you have subscribed and paid for this tour.
  • Cash money to pay the not included entrance fees, drinks and lunch, shopping, tips…
  • Your cameras… Remember that at some sites and museums taking pictures may be forbidden or allowed midst payment of a fee. Inquire about using a flash;
  • Your swimming wear if you jo-in a tour with swimming opportunity.
  • Possibly spare shoes, T-shirts, jumpers, socks

Visiting archaeological site may require good physical conditions and access to people with reduced mobility is not always possible. During visits and stops, the buses will be locked and under the supervision of the driver. Hence, if you wish, you can leave some personal belongings in the bus yet at your own responsibility. If not done at subscription, inform your tour guide as soon as you get on the coach about your specific food requirements so that the restaurant booked for lunch can be informed accordingly in due time.

Full Day : Santorini & Akrotiri

Oia, the charming village of Santorini and Akrotiri, the best preserved prehistoric settlement in Greece come together with Fira, islands capital, in this interesting shore excursion package.
Enjoy a short trip by local boat, to Athenios harbour. Board your motorcoach and proceed to the archeological site of Akrotiri. Often compared to Pompeii, Akrotiri boasts a much earlier age and preserves amazing ruins dating back to the second millennium BC. Walk through the well kept passage way in the excavated area and marvel at the beautiful pottery, the two and three story houses, which were once decorated with renowned wallpaintings, the staircases and a great variety of rooms, roads and squares of a city 3,500 years old!
Return to your motorcoach and continue on through the beautiful countryside to Oia village. Built on the northern part of the caldera rim, it is here whe-re many artists have been inspired due to its magnificent location, as you will see for yourself, with its most superb views of the caldera, the rest of the island itself and Aegean Sea. A guided tour combined with free time will be offered.
After Oia drive to Fira town. Fira is an attractive town perched on the Caldera rim whe-re the land slopes gently in one direction and falls steeply in to the sea in the other. There you will have the choice either to enjoy the town at leisure or perhaps return directly to your ship by the spectacular cable car. All tickets for cable car will be delivered by your guide, in advance.
