A Cappadocia All In One tour - Goreme, an underground city, the main valleys and villages - for those who have limited time !
For those who have limited time in Cappadocia and yet wish to visit the main highlights of the area this tour is a perfect option : the open air museum of Goreme, one underground city, the most significant valleys and villages all in one day.
Our first stop will be the underground city of Kaymakli where early Christians lived in fear and faith. We then head for the Uchisar Castle, the highest peak of the area and for Esentepe from where we will enjoy a magnificent panorama. After lunch, we proceed to the open air museum of Goreme : churches, chapels, monasteries all carved into the fairy chimneys between the 10th and 13th centuries and covered with frescos. The Devrent Valley will reveal various types of fairy chimneys : caps, cones, mushroom like pillars and pointed rocks. The Monks’ Valley also presents interesting types of chimneys and the most interesting one is the St Simeon chapel and a hermit’s dwelling carved out of a three-headed chimney. We finish our day with a stop in Avanos known for its pottery production going all the way back to the Hittite period.
This tour is organized every day of the year yet due to heavy weather conditions, it can be cancelled without prior notice.
The sequence of the visits may also be amended for practical reasons especially in the winter when the valley may be closed due extreme snow or flood.
